Mac OS 9.2 Disk image (French)
ac OS 9, introduced by Apple on October 23, 1999 is the last version of the "Classic" Macintosh Operating System (Mac OS) released before being succeeded by Mac OS X. Upon introduction, Mac OS 9 was advertised as having "50 new features," including 128-bit encryption capabilities and Sherlock 2. Codenamed Sonata and originally intended to debut as Mac OS 8.7, Mac OS 9 is considered by some the most functional version of the original Mac OS. While Mac OS 9 did not include such modern operating system features such as protected memory [1] and pre-emptive multitasking, lasting improvements include the addition of an automated Software Update engine and support for multiple users.
